How do I edit a product group?

To edit a product group go the category, subcategory or page where product group is located and follow the specific instructions below for each different product group.

Featured Products can be identified within the category or page by it’s title FEATURED PRODUCTS .  The Featured products shows any number of products at any one time.

There are two ways to edit a Featured products group. The first is to choose which products appear. The second is to choose how many products appear.

To choose which products appear follow the instructions below.

  1. To edit Featured Products click on, which is positioned at the base of the group. This will open the ‘Organise featured products page’.
  2. On the right hand side of the page you will see the ‘Products not selected’ box. This contains all the products in the catalogue. On the left hand side of the page you will see the ‘Selected products’ box. Any products you would like to appear in the Featured Products group must be placed in this box. You can do this by using the drag and drop feature. Any products you wish to remove from the ‘Selected Products’ box can be removed by using the drag and drop feature.
  3. To drag the product, place your mouse over the product name. Click on the product name and keep your finger on the mouse. Keeping your finger on the mouse, place the product into the desired box.  To release the product take your finger off the mouse.
  4. Repeat this for each product you would like to place in the the relevant box.
  5. If you place more products into the ‘Selected products’ box (for example 4 products) than you allocated to be shown when setting up the product group (for example 3 products), the site will show 3 products randomly from the 4 products. The products that appear will change each time the page is refreshed.

 

To choose how many products appear follow the instructions below.

  1. Once you are at the category, subcategory or page where product group is located click on ‘Edit’ on the top of the navigation bar then scroll down to the the relevant ‘Edit this’, for example ‘Edit this category’ or ‘edit this page’.
  2. Go the column that contains the Featured product group. You will recognise the featured product, an example of how it will appear is PRODUCT_GROUP[featured,Featured Products,4]. In this case the number of products that currently appear within the Featured products is 4.
  3. To change the number of products that appear click your mouse over the number to highlight it then enter the new number of products that you would like to appear. Say the new number is to be 6 then once you have edited it, it should appear like this. PRODUCT_GROUP[featured,Featured Products,6]
  4. Once you are happy with the editing click on the ‘Update’ button at the base of the editing page.

 

On Offer products can be identified within the category or page by it’s title SPECIAL OFFERS . The Special Offer products shows any number of products at any one time.

There are two ways to edit an On Offer product group. The first is to choose which products appear. The second is to choose how many products appear.

To choose which products appear follow the instructions below.

  1. To edit products On Offer click on Edit, which is positioned at the base of the group. This will open the ‘Organise on offer products page’.
  2. On the right hand side of the page you will see the ‘Products not selected’ box. This contains all the products in the catalogue. On the left hand side of the page you will see the ‘Selected products’ box. Any products you would like to appear in the On Offer products group must be placed in this box. You can do this by using the drag and drop feature. Any products you wish to remove from the ‘Selected Products’ box can be removed by using the drag and drop feature.

Just In products can be identified within the category or page by it’s title JUST IN. The Just In products shows any number products at any one time, which are chosen from the last products added to the catalogue.

There are two ways to edit a Just In product group. The first is to choose how many products appear. The second is to choose how many products from the last ones added that these chosen products are selected from.

 

To choose how many products appear follow the instructions below.

  1. Once you are at the category, subcategory or page where product group is located click on ‘Edit’ on the top of the navigation bar then scroll down to the the relevant ‘Edit this’, for example ‘Edit this category’ or ‘edit this page’.
  2. Go the column that contains the Just In product group. You will recognise the Just In product group, an example of how it will appear is PRODUCT_GROUP[just_in,Just In,4,8]. In this case the number of products that currently appear within the Just In products is 4 products from the last 8 added.
  3. To change the number of products that appear click your mouse over the first number to highlight it then enter the new number of products that you would like to appear. Say the new number is to be 6 then once you have edited it, it should appear like this. PRODUCT_GROUP[just_in,Just In,6,8].
  4. Once you are happy with the editing click on the ‘Update’ button at the base of the editing page.

 

To choose how many products from the last ones added these chosen products are selected from follow the instructions below.

  1. Once you are at the category, subcategory or page where product group is located click on ‘Edit’ on the top of the navigation bar then scroll down to the the relevant ‘Edit this’, for example ‘Edit this category’ or ‘edit this page’.
  2. Go the column that contains the Featured product group. You will recognise the Just In product, an example of how it will appear is PRODUCT_GROUP[just_in,Just In,4,8]. In this case the number of products that currently appear within the Just In products is 4 from the last 8 products added.
  3. To change the number of products that The Just In products are chosen from click your mouse over the second number to highlight it then enter the new number of products that you would like to choose from. Say the new number is to be 6 then once you have edited it, it should appear like this. PRODUCT_GROUP[just_in,Just In,4,6].
  4. Once you are happy with the editing click on the ‘Update’ button at the base of the editing page.

 

Custom Selection products can be identified within the category or page by it’s lack of title. The Custom Selection products shows any number products at any one time. These products are handpicked or custom selected.

There are two ways to edit a Custom Selection product group. The first is to hand pick specific products from throughout the catalogue. The second is to choose all products in the catalogue. It is most likely that this feature will be used to hand pick products.
 

To hand pick specific products from throughout the catalogue follow the instructions below.

  1. Once you are at the category, subcategory or page where product group is located click on ‘Edit’ on the top of the navigation bar then scroll down to the the relevant ‘Edit this’, for example ‘Edit this category’ or ‘edit this page’. 
  2. Go the column that contains the Custom Selection product group. You will recognise the Custom Selection product, an example of how it will appear is PRODUCT_GROUP[products,163,165,121,174]. In this case the number of products that currently appear within the Custom Selection is 4. The individual numbers relate to the individual products.
  3. To change the products within the Custom Selection products are chosen from click your mouse over the entire product group to highlight it then press delete. Click on the BOX PLUS symbol to open the ‘Add product group’ box. Click on the small ‘Custom selection’ circle. Click on the product within the ‘Available’ box that you would like to add to the Custom Selection product group. Click on the single arrow that points to the right. This will place the product in the ‘Selected’ box. Repeat this for each product you want to include. Once you have completed the selection click on the ‘Add group’ button to add the new Custom Selection product group to the column. It should appear like with different numbers, for example, PRODUCT_GROUP[products,161,163,164,121]. 
  4. Once you are happy with the editing click on the ‘Update’ button at the base of the editing page.
