How do I create a new page?

    1. To create a new page go to your home page. Place your mouse over ‘Create’ on the admin bar at the top of every page. Select ‘Create a new page’. This will open a ‘New pagepage.
    2. Click on the URL box and type in the page name. If your website address is www.giftsforall.com and your page name is New Products then enter newproducts in this box and it will appear as www.giftsforall/newproducts when a customer clicks on that page.
    3. Next click on the ‘Navigation link title’ box and type in the title of the navigation link, for example ’New Products’.
    4. Click on the ‘Browser window title’ and type in the title of the browser window, for example ‘New Products’.
    5. To choose a template (i.e. the layout of your page) click on the circle on the bottom left of the template that you would like to use.
    6. Next click on the arrows on the right of the drop down menu underneath ‘Page link location’. This allows you to choose the location of the link to your page within the website. For more information see below.
    7. You then have the choice to create your new page by clicking on the ‘Create ’ button. If you do not wish to proceed, click on ‘Go back without creating page’.
    8. When you click the ‘Create new’ button you will taken to the ‘Editing page’ where you can add the rest of the information for your new page. Type in the ‘Page Title’, as you want it to appear at the top of the new page. If you prefer not to have a page title you can leave this blank.
    9. To add a meta tag description for this page click on ‘Show’ to the right of ‘Meta tag description’. This will open a box below ‘Meta tag description’ where you can enter your meta tag description. Repeat to add meta tag keywords.     10. Click inside the ‘Page content’ box and type in the copy for your new page.
    11. Go to the column you would like to add the images/s to and click on the exact location within the column box where you want to place the image. To add images (photos or graphics) from your library click on the square symbol. This will open a window called ‘Insert Image from your image library’. Click on the arrow to the left of the relevant directory to access the image. You can see preview of the image when you place your mouse over the image name. Click on the image you would like to insert, then click on the ‘Insert’ button near the top of the window. To choose an image click on it. You will the chosen file to the right of the ‘1. File:’.
    12. Click on the ‘Add image’ button to add the image to the column or click on Cancel to go back.
    13. You can add product groups to your page. For more information and instructions on Product Groups please refer to How do I create a product group?.
    14. The ‘Page link location’ was chosen on the previous page.
    15. Click ‘Save page’ to save the information you have entered. This will take you to your new page.
    16. If you do not wish to proceed, click on ‘Go back without creating page’.

Top – page will appear under the shopping cart at the top right of each page.

Navigation – page will appear in the main navigation bar where your Home page and catalogue categories are situated.

Footer – page will appear at the bottom right of each page, to the right of your shop name and location.

None – The page link will not appear in any navigation.  This is useful for automated email pages. For more information on automated emails please refer to Automated Emails.

Note:
The meta tag description is designed to provide a brief description of your webpage which can be used by search engines or directories. Write a unique description for each page of your site limiting it to around 160 characters (including spaces) or less.

The meta tag keywords is a list of targeted words or phrases that best describe the contents of the web page. This helps the search engines know how to index your site. Separate keywords or phrases using a comma. Your list of keywords /phrases should be limited to around 10 – 15 unique words or phrases.
