Setting up shipping bands

You can set up editable shipping bands, regions and countries. Each product can be allocated with it’s own shipping band.

How do I create a new shipping band?

  1. To edit an existing shipping, place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping bands’. This will open up the ‘Available shipping bands’ page.
  2. Click on ‘Edit’ to the right of the band that you would like to edit. This will open the ‘Editing shipping band’ page.
  3. Click on the box that holds the information you would like to edit and highlight the existing entry by clicking your mouse, holding it down and dragging it over the text. You can then type in the new/edited information.
  4. Enter the name of your shipping band. Enter the maximum number of items, which can be ordered within each shipping band.
  5. You can choose whether to ship to orders UK, Europe and/or Worldwide. Click on the box to the right of ‘Can ship here’ to add a tick. If the box is ticked it means that you will ship to this destination. Click on it again to untick and remove the geographical area.
  6. To accept any changes, click on the ‘Create’ button. If you do not want to proceed click on ‘cancel or go back’ to the right of the update button.

How do I create a new shipping country?

All the existing countries within the shipping section of the website are allocated to either UK, Europe or Worldwide. If you add new shipping regions it is important to allocate countries to these new shipping region/s.  For example, if you added a shipping region called UK+ for shipping to islands surrounding the UK mainland (where posting may be more) then you would add the name of those islands to the countries section. UK+ or Europe Zone 1 (central Europe). You can also add ‘countries’ such as Isle of Man, Channel islands etc.

    1. To add a shipping country, place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping countries’. This will open up the ‘Shop countries’ page.
    2. Scroll to the base of the page and click on ‘New shop country’.  This will open the ‘New shop country’ page.
    3. Click on the ‘Name’ box and enter the name of the new country (this could be an island or island group, such as Isle of Man or Channel Islands).
    4. Click on the arrow on the right of the drop down menu below ‘Region’.  Click on the region that the new country is to be allocated to.
    5. To create the new shipping country, click on the ‘Create’ button. If you do not want to proceed click on ‘go back’.

How do I create a new shipping region?

    1. To create a new shipping region, place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping regions’. This will open up the ‘Available regions’ page.
    2. Click on ‘New region’. This will open the ‘New region’ page.
    3. Enter the name of your shipping band.
    4. To create the new shipping band, click on the ‘Create’ button. If you do not want to proceed click on ‘cancel or go back’ to the right of the update button.

How do I edit an existing shipping region?

    1. To edit an existing shipping region place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping regions’. This will open up the ‘Available regions’ page.
    2. Click on ‘Edit’ to the right of the region that you would like to edit. This will open the ‘Editing region’ page.

How do I allocate a product with a shipping band?

Before allocating a product with a shipping band you must first set up the shipping band. For more information on how to do this please go to How do I create a new shipping band?. Once you have set up your shipping bands please follow the instructions below.

    1. Go through the catalogue to the product (don’t click on the product to open it) that you would like to add a shipping band to.
    2. Click on [edit] beside name and price. This will open up the ‘Editing product’ page.
    3. You can alter the shipping band by clicking the arrows on the button directly underneath ‘Product shipping band’. Scroll up or down and click on the shipping band you want to allocate to this product.
    4. If you are happy with the information you have entered please click the ‘Update’ button at the bottom of the page and your product will be edited and the catalogue updated.

How do I delete a shipping band?

    1. To delete an existing shipping, place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping bands’. This will open up the ‘Available shipping bands’ page.
    2. Click on ‘Delete’ to the right of the band that you would like to delete. A small window will open to ask you, ‘Are you sure you want to delete this shipping band’.
    3. If you are absolutely sure that you want to delete this shipping band click on the ‘OK’ button. This deletion cannot be undone. If you are at all unsure click the ‘Cancel’ button.

How do I delete a shipping region?

    1. To delete a shipping region, place your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the admin bar at the top of any page and click on ‘Shipping regions’. This will open up the ‘Available regions’ page.
    2. Click on ‘Destroy’ to the right of the region that you would like to delete. A small window will open to ask you, ‘Are you sure?’.
    3. If you are absolutely sure that you want to delete this shipping region click on the ‘OK’ button. This deletion cannot be undone. If you are at all unsure click the ‘Cancel’ button.
